Order Historic Photos The Fort Lauderdale Historical Society has an outstanding collection of historical photographs from Fort Lauderdale and Broward County. There are 250,000 images in the archive including approximately 30,000 historic prints, the 200,000 negatives of the Gene Hyde Collection and the aerial photographs of the Birdseye and Lamphed Collections. We have many early (late 19th century through the 1920s) photographs of the Seminole Indians of South Florida; this collection includes the photographs of the Rev. James L.Glenn, the Special Commissioner to the Florida Seminoles in the 1930s. The society’s photographic collections are cataloged by subject. In addition to photographs, the Society also has notable collections of postcards and slides. Most images are available for purchase as photographic prints in a range of sizes. Digital scans of our images are available for publication. Click here for prices of our historic photographs. We invite you to browse through some of our most popular images below.
